2012 marks the fourth year for the US Mint’s principles of the Preamble program for American Eagle 1 oz. Platinum Proof Coins. From 2009 to 2014 each year will bring a newly designed reverse showcasing the Preamble theme. The reverse design features a Revolutionary War minuteman with a rifle in his left hand and a book clutched in his right. The coin will be available for purchase August 9, 2012 at 12:00 Noon (ET) directly from the mint.
